Blueforce Announces Support for the Garmin Tactix Delta Military Grade Wearable

Blueforce is on a constant mission to find new and novel wearable devices and sensors for our military and public safety customers deployed around the world. Combining Blueforce with wearables enables a wide array of customer use cases to include COVID-19 pre-diagnosis medical monitoring, operational life safety, and human performance monitoring. When we learned of and then saw the new Garmin Tactix Delta, we knew we had to offer support for this beast of a tactical wearable as part of the Blueforce edge compute IoT platform.

The Tactix Delta is a seriously rugged device which meets meet military standards to include MIL-STD-810 rating for dust and shock, but has a water rating up to 10 ATM (100m) and features night vision compatibility for nighttime field operations. The large 1.4” display is 36% larger than previous Tactix models, and sports a scratch-resistant domed sapphire lens, black DLC-coated steel bezel and a black PVD-coated steel rear cover. Power is impressive too: The internal, rechargeable lithium battery provides up to 21 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, 15 hours in GPS mode, and up to 80 days in battery saver mode.

Our favorite features are the stealth mode tools to stop storing and sharing GPS position, disable wireless connectivity and communications, and a native kill switch that wipes the device of all user memory.

With COVID-19 on the loose and a threat of a Second Wave, the Tactix Delta in particular can share heartrate, heartrate variability (for stress detection), PulseOx sensor for blood oxygenation, and a respiration tracker. All of these are key markers for early detection of COVID-19 onset.

Blueforce is announcing support for the Garmin Tactix Charlie and Tactix Delta via a new BlueforceTACTICAL Plugin for Android. While this new BTAC Plugin can largely support any Garmin device which leverages the Garmin IQ API, the plugin lights up when pointed at the Tactix Charlie or the Tactix Delta by not only monitoring and securely sharing physiological data, but the devices can also receive Blueforce alerts, notifications, and other tactical data providing a hands-free user experience in high stress tactical environments. We will be announcing many additional features at final launch that we want to keep secret for now.

The Garmin Tactix Plugin for BlueforceTACTICAL Android will enter Beta testing in the coming weeks. Contact us for more information at info@blueforcedev.com, or call us at 866-960-0204.
